Two out of three pigs mostly just lay during floortime. Murphy is adventurous, and will explore his new place or any place in general, but once he thinks he's got it all figured out, will either eat hay, or sleep. Jasper is a follower, and is on Murphy's tail constantly. When Murphy settles down, he does too. Gip is the only one that runs around a fair amount. Jasper and Murphy are in floortime in my room right now, and I'm watching them. Murphy is asleep, and Jasper is actually exploring a bucket and smelling the air. I have a giant PVC tube, a lemonade canister, a bent grid hidey, a straw jingle ball they chew on, two empty boxes, and one box with a lid with hay in it to give them something to work for. I don't know what else to do! Murphy gets a fair amount of exercise going up and down the ramp in their cage, because he mostly hangs out in the top floor. Jasper is my fattest pig of all, and the laziest. Any advice or ideas? And also, this is only the second time they've been in my room for floortime, so it's not lack of a new place. |

My pigs were utterly uninterested in floor time until I started hiding veggie chunks around the room. They have my entire master bedroom, hallway, and bathroom to explore. They mostly gathered in the bedroom and cuddled up on a plush rug thing until they realized there were good chunks of cucumbers, tomatoes, etc., that they had to find and eat before anyone else did. I tried that with hay, but they were like, meh, yeah, not so interested. |

That's what I'd suggest too- spreading around bits of veggies. Maybe taking a paper bag sometimes and throwing some veggies in there before folding it closed and putting the bag somewhere will encourage them to explore and find it, and have extra fun ripping it open. |

Oh, man, they're having a ball. I hid cilantro in boxes and on top of tubes and grids, and at first they found them by accident. When I rehid everything, they were on a hunt! That worked amazingly, thank you both! |

This is a great idea! I have the same problem with my girls. Most of them just seem to stay in the piggloos and don't actually exercise. I'm going to try hiding the veggies tonight. Thank you! |

Cute video. Your orange piggy's adorable, he figured out pretty fast where the treats were coming from. And his encounter with the box was adorable. It was neat to watch them when they figured out they could get food if they looked for it! |
