Question floor time problem.

Every time I take my guinea pig out so he can have floor time he always goes back into the room where his cage is and trys to get back in his cage. He has the whole 2nd floor of our house to run around but he just doesn't want to it seems like. Any advice?

Re: floor time problem.

Do you provide him with a safe hidey house place for him to retreat to when he feels the need?

Do you provide him with food and water during floor time?

How many piggies do you have?

Re: floor time problem.

Yes he has many places to hide if he wanted too. And I give him his veggies at floor time. I only have one piggie. I'm trying to find him a friend. But I've only had him since tuesday so he might still be nervous or somthing.

Re: floor time problem.

Goodness! Yes, he is probably just a little nervous. I would give him some time, and keep trying to find him a buddy to run and popcorn with!

Good Luck!

Re: floor time problem.

He may have too much space and doesn't feel secure. Maybe you could try a smaller floor time space for awhile. Mine aren't really comfortable in a larger space either.
