Floortime behavior

Hey everyone,

I'm new to this forum but I have came to this site many times to get answers to my GPs behavior. So let me put my cheers out to everyone out there, thank you!

I have two GPs, both females and their names are Zouky & Sunny.

I wanted to know if this is the normal behavior of GPs. When my pigs are in their cage they will let me pet them and pick them up for cuddle cup time (laptime). But whenever I do floortime they will be willing to be next to me, climb on my legs or arms, etc. But anytime on the floor they don't really let me pet them.

But to let them be ensured that I won't do anything to them I get their favorite treat, baby carrots, this will work a lot of times but Zouky sometimes will jump and dodge my hand but still trying to eat the baby carrot in my left-hand. After about two or three tries to dodge the petting hand she'll stop and purr as I pet her, but as soon as the treat is gone she darts away, popcorning, and wheeking. Sunny a lot of the times will let me pet her with or without a treat durning floortime. But Sunny will dart away and stare at me like "what were you thinking?"

These pigs have come a long ways and I think their being more loving as time passes and along with a good amount of bribery with food helps to speed the process

But basically I wanted to know if anyone out there has their GP's doing the same thing durning floor.

Re: Floortime behavior

Is their floortime area a good deal larger than their cage? It sounds like they are excited about the extra space and have room to run away from you, so they do so. Seems normal to me.
