Now come on people I know at least one of you has another amazing yet cheap idea! so here it is: I need to make a colapsable (speling?) run, it need to be cheap, safe and easy to clean and put away in a small-ish place! The reason I need it cheap is because my parents are going to buy me some grids for christmas, well thats a long way away kinda anyway! well I just need a temporary run! only so my piggies can have a better floor time. Hope to here from someone soon! ![]()

Re: C'mon people I need ideas! Thrilled to hear you will be getting grids (eventually!) - I know it's been a long hard battle for you! For a cheap, collapsable run - you could either use a suitable room (I know it's not collapsable - but that makes it even easier. Our bathroom is ideal, as there are no plug sockets, and the floor is wipeable - I just lay down several towels, and baracade the doorway with a large box. If this isn't possible, yu could try using a large tarpaulin/shower curtain/thick plastic sheet, and have it 'suspended' from the furniture - tuck it into the couch cushions/armchair/clip it to the table etc - so that you have a piggy proof area. Again, you could use towels in the base. Have you looked for a play pool? There's pics of folks using them in the galleries. If there's a car boot sale/jumble sale coming up - give it a bit of a scout - you may find a kiddies playpen or something similar which you could use also. Best of luck - let us know what you end up using!

Re: C'mon people I need ideas! What about squares of cardboard duct taped loosely together. Then you could fold it up afterwards. I bought extra cubes grids when I got my cage and just zip tied them together so they can fold up and tuck under my cage stand.

Re: C'mon people I need ideas! Raisin's cardboard idea is a good one - especially if you can make a 'lip' on the outside, and weigh them down with books or something. If you have wallspace, could you get away with just the two cardboard walls - from the cage to the wall?

Re: C'mon people I need ideas! Try your local grocery store, they often use a mixture of cardboard boxes and those foam boxes to hold stock and usually give them away for free.

Re: C'mon people I need ideas! Liquor stores are good at giving out boxes for free, and they are usually really sturdy and thicker to hold heavy bottles.
