Floor time troubles...

First off my poor pigs' have only had 2 floor times since school started 2 weeks ago it was for maybe 3 or less hours each(I know its bad but I've been super busy). I would say they can only have floor time for about another week or two before we have to move them ot the new house. Now at the new house they aren't allowed on the carpet because it's a beige white color and my dad doesn't want them to stain it. Hopefully when we move I can have almost my whole bedroom for floor time and maybe the mud room. Part of their floor time in my new room will hopefully be in my giant closet. The whole space would be about a 13ftx10ft maybe more. I think we can buy some cheap shower curtins for my floor. BUT I have no clue where to get some. Does anyone know where I could find some for cheap?Or if there's some other plastic thing I could use to protect my floor?Any tips on how to get my pigs floor time with my busy schedule would help alot. I get home at about 3pm then do homework and clean till about 5pm then 1 day a week I leave the house again at 5:45 and don't get home till 7pm or later. By then I finish my homework and eat. And I don't think I could do floor time before school only because I get up at 6:10am and leave at about 6:34am. So yeah I have a tight schedule.Plus we have to clean and pack which takes up alot of time during the week.Any help about the floortime would be great.

Re: Floor time troubles...

Tarpaulin sheets are fairly cheap and waterproof and they come in various sizes. I've seen them up to 6x9 feet.

Re: Floor time troubles...

You can also use contractor sized trashbags cut at the seams to make like a sheet of plastic, I did this once while we were on vacation as to not have pee stains on the floor of the condo we rented and they worked really good, it came out to be like 4ft by 8ft which is still pretty small but you could put a few together but be sure to put blankets and or towels over the plastic so they can get to it!!!!!!

That diaper would weigh 20 pounds in an hour on one of our poop monsters

Princess you could also got into the paint department were they sell like 2 mill plastic by the roll. I think it is 12'x50', and that would make alot of play areas over time.

Re: Floor time troubles...

The plastic would come in a long roll, maybe in a box. I think you should give it a peak, because I believe it would be better for the application and far more cost effective over time.

Re: Floor time troubles...

About the tarps, do you put fleece or something over them? I am afraid that the pee and poo will just "sit there" in pools, or does it absorb like in the mattress pads.

Normally at floor time I put down an old bed sheet even if its just on my carpet.

It' does, that is why I put an old bedsheet over the plastic. It will soak up the pee so it does not pool up and gives them a little more traction. My guys dont like the slippery surface of just the plastic.

Re: Floor time troubles...

Just an update. I figured out a way to have floortime. We bought this plastic runner for under the cage and I have about 5 feet or more of it left so I put it down on the carpet surround it with grids and put a bed sheet over it and the piggies are happy.
