Transition from Cage to Lap

Bubba loves being petted and brushed in his cage and also loves it in my lap. However he hates being picked up and moved from place to place. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'm supporting his body with both hands like the books tell you to. Or is this a common problem?

They dont like being picked up or carried around. Try picking him up when he is in a cozy or a PVC pipe.

You cloud do what pignewton said or you could keep working with him to make him feel safe when being picked up, try dif ways of holding him, sometimes they will like other ways better, my charlie dosent like being held like books tell you he like being held like a bunny(not the scruff way though)

Re: Transition from Cage to Lap

Bubble and Squeak don't like the picking up part, but once they are resting against my body, with one of my arms curled under heir bottoms, and the other one stroking them or resting across their backs they calm right down. I have never tried to hold them away from my body, as this freaks them out. The need the solid support (me) to know they are not going to fall.
