Okay, I know this probably isn't the place but I'm at a loss. I have 3 little boy skinny pigs. Harry & Spot are brothers and are constantly fighting. Or at least that is what I think they are doing. They do this "Clint Eastwood" stuff. Where they wiggle their bums and lift their legs like they are cowboys ready to do battle. Then they popcorn jump. They also make a noise when they do this. Not sure if its that "teeth chattering" that I've read about. But it is a noise. I'm new with piggies. Now I have a new little boy, Popcorn. He is only about 3 weeks younger than Spot & Harry but Spot & Harry are always chasing him and smelling or licking his "yohos". Does that mean they are checking him out? They also seem like they are trying to "mount" him. What does this mean? He is always running away from them and he often pees when with them. So is he afraid of them or is it like when a mother dog stimulates her pup to pee? I'm separating them but wondering if this will always be or will they eventually accept him? Thanks for any help.

Re: fighting guys The behavior your describing is completely normal it's a way for guinea pigs to show dominance and it isn't until there is bloodshed that you should seperate them. Guinea Pig Behaviour As for the peeing, Guinea pigs tend to spray each other with pee to warn them off. It's not a sign of being afraid it's another normal guinea pig behavior. What I do wonder is, Are you sure that they are all male? http://www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm As for being new to guinea pigs I would strongly advice to read the following website entirely and thoroughly: Guinea Lynx :: Guinea Pig Care Guide I'd also advice to read all the sticky threads on the following link: http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/diet-nutrition/ For the rest make sure you read the front page of the Cavycages website on proper cage size requirements. Make sure the inner dimensions of your cage meet these criteria. Boars especially need a little bit more space then sows in general to prevent more fighting.

Re: fighting guys My pigs always seem to fight more when they have a larger area, such as floor time. I'm not sure why though.

Re: fighting guys Thanks for all the helpful information. The guys are now getting along great. My cage is very well sized 4 grids long by 2 grids wide and two high. I promise I will post a picture soon. So far the boys like to do what we call the "piggy 500". They love to just run around in a circle almost like they are chasing each other but they aren't because one will pass the other like they are actually trying to race. It is very entertaining. My hubby often plays the announce with the "and Popcorn takes the lead but Harry is close behind with Spot running a close 3rd" They truly are the funniest little creatures. They love to play ball. I've gotten 3 very hard plastic balls and they like to push them with their nose. Spot will often get on his hind legs and actually walk the ball. Again thanks for all the helpful information.
