Babies

My pig Annabella just had three babies Friday. I also have another named Isabella. It is amazing how active they are already. Anyway, it is time to clean the cage thoroughly. My question is - can the babies be put down on the floor with the other two while I clean? Or is it too early?

Re: Babies

It should be ok, but make absolutely certain that the area is completely blocked off. The first few days they're a little slow and easy to pick up, but within a few days they're SO quick and tend to run when afraid. I had a nightmarish experience when one of my little ones escaped and I couldn't get her out from under the couch for what seemed like hours!

Re: Babies

Thanks a bunch! The deed is done and worked out very well. I know about when a pig gets away and under something...heheh. When I had Anna for about two weeks, the little monkey got under my bed. I know it took me a couple hours to finally get her! I will continue to be diligent in that never happening again....no fun!
