Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 The first couple of days we had our piggie, my kids (8 &6) were able to hold piggie up to about 5 min each. After about the 3rd day, piggie decided NO MORE and started acting like she'd start to nibble/nip, pee on the kids and refuse any kind of being held-in towel, against chest, in lap. I was told that GPs would be more inclined to be "cuddled" but not sure about this one. She loves to be petted... but only while in her cage and occasionally during floor time - just "don't try to pick me up!" I am the only adult who has picked her up to set her in the laps of my kids. |

I have found w/both of my piggies that they really have never been crazy about being picked up. Held either. Now petting, kissing, and laying on the floor w/ them and cuddling with them on the floor is great - just don't hold them. I have heard this quite a bit. Try laying on the floor w/them during floor time and let them come to you. I bet it improves. Good luck! |

My piggs don't really like to be held but will behave. Except when they are in a bad mood they might pee on me or nibble on my shirt. Other than those certain bad moods they are fine. |

My friend has two pigs, one of them will let anyone pick her up, pet her, hold her, cuddle her, and she will be patient and snuggle back too. The other one is really skittish, and will run away at the mere sight of an approaching hand. Even once she is in the lap, she squirms and wriggles, and she hates to be petted/touched anywhere. At first, we thought this was mites, so she was taken to the vet, but its not mites. Its just her paranoia personality. i hope i get a lap cooperative pigger! |
