Hiding place for floor time?

I was wondering if others put a hidey place for the pigs down when they give floor time? If I do, it defeats the purpose of giving him excercise since he'll just stay in the hidey place. If I don't, I feel bad because he's looking for some place to hide, or a way to escape, but he's moving around alot anxiously. He does eat the veggies I put in for him so he must not be too freaked out if he can eat, right? I'm just trying to be sensitive to the little guy. What do you all do? Thanks! G.

Most definitely give him places to hide. He'll come out and run around when he's comfortable. You can't force it. It will take time. Give him multiple places in different locations so he can go from one to another to another.

Re: Hiding place for floor time?

I let Frank run around free range. He's potty trained, so I trust him for the most part. So he is able to find his own hiding places. He goes through phases. Some times he likes being under the love seat, then the couch, next the coffee table, and then sometimes, by the tv. If I let him sit there too long, he may take a nap though.

Zoe is not potty trained. Just haven't been able to get her to figure out that she must pee in her cage. She has gotten better. I created a little pen for her encapsulating the coffee table. So she can run around, under, and through it.

I don't use pigloos or hidey holes outside of the cages. I find that it encourages waste extretion.
