one of my pigs poops alot during floor time

is it normal? I know my dog will poop more after she runs around. I suppose it gets her system going better. Could this is the case? She is younger than my other pig, and she poop twice as much. Is that normal?

My girls poop a lot during floor time too. sometimes they make it to the potty, sometimes they don't!

I can't believe just how much they do poop in a day though! i was very surprised when i first got them!

Smile Piggy life

That's life with piggies - rabbits have it all over pigs as far as litter training! Nothing much you can do - but I've found that the bigger the floor space, the less likely they are to treat the whole thing like their cage. I identified some prime peeing real estate (corners, hidey boxes, area next to water bottle & hay) and put newspaper down. The more hidey areas you create, the less likely that they'll pee on the floor.
Best bet - get brown carpeting!!

Our basement carpet is brown. Nice that it hides any stains but it's also difficult to find any of their poop. The only time we find poop is after we step on it. uck.

Yes

I let my pigs roam in my (pig-safe) bedroom, but they can still get under my bed. It is safe for them, and looks like a giant hidy house as well, which is why I have to watch them because that is (as GuineaTV says) prime real estate for peeing. I also have gray carpet so that is even worse if they pee. Just to warn you if there are any beds or spaces that look like hidy houses.

Oh, and watch out for where you step. Don't be surprised if the bottom of your sock turns yellow :-D

Re: one of my pigs poops alot during floor time

Hrm, mine poop everywhere. Floor, couch, my lap. One time, Charlie crawled underneath my boyfriend's shirt while he was lying down with the pig on his chest... and while Charlie was underneath his shirt exploring and having a jolly good ol time, he pooped on his naked chest... and even proceeded to step on it thus squishing it flat against his skin on his way out of his shirt! This is the same pig who was lying on a blanket on the couch.. and pooped so many times that we continued to find his pooplets for 4 days following that incident. Well, those are my poop stories :-)
