Question How long is too long to have them outside?

If I and/or another human was able to stay there and supervise them the enitre time, then how long is too long to let them run around outside in some sort of run/play area type thingie that I would build from cubes/grids?

I know they need shade, and if the temperature outside gets too hot/warm or cold/chilly, then I'll have to bring them in, of course.
What is their maximum outside temperature that they can be comfortable at playing outside in? What about the minimum?

Thanks so much, in advance! Boy, I cannot wait until spring gets here. I have two ideas already for outside floortime places.

From everything I've read, like 72-85 degrees Fahrenheit and a hour at most on untreated grass.

As long as your comfortable outside in a tee shirt and shorts, they should be,too.

I wouldn't keep them out longer than an hour though.

Re: How long is too long to have them outside?

Thanks a bunch you guys! Its too cold out here to do short-sleeved t shirt and shorts now, so I guess I'll have to wait till spring, or whenever it starts to warm up. It reaches an average of 45 degrees during the day right now, but the weather in Asheville is possibly the least predictable of anywhere, so...it could go up to 50 or down to 35 at any moment L0L.

65F to 75F is the ideal temperature range. Anything really over 80 will be too hot for them in the sun.

Supervision in the ideal temperature range you could leave them outside for 2-3 hours.

In addition, be sure that you provide a cool shaded area by possible draping a towel over one corner of the cage. Also put a water bottle on the pen incase they get thirsty.

When bringing them outside, you should also check the wind chill. The thermometer may say 65F, but the wind may say 55F.
