Question I would love to take Stuart outside for a little bit of fresh air. However I do not trust just taking him outside.I don't have an actual pen. I wondered how I could make a pen for outdoors that is EASY to move in and outside.I would always stay outside with him, because I have some odd neighbours and I wouldn't trust them if I am not outside with my piggy. I do have several of those small cages which are labelled as guinea pig and rabbit cages (yet, wayyy too small) - I was wondering if I could just use the tops of them and bring them outside and let Stuart run around enclosed in that. The reason I have a ton of them,is because when I was doing rat rescue - people would give them to me.I no longer do rat rescue, but I keep them around...cause they can be converted into rat cages.Sorry I am rambling now... Does anyone know what I am trying to ask?? I can't explain things sometimes... ![]()

Re: Question I think that would be OK if you were to just use the tops/wire part (you do mean that right?) for a free time run. However, they are ridiculously small, if you look in the "outdoor environments" gallery, you may get some ideas for larger runs. For example, just grids zip-tied together so that they are collapsible (then you could bring it inside really easily...)

Re: Question That would be great, especially since it has a top! I don't really use outdoor time as a floor time, so I too use cage tops for my pigs (they are useful for something) just to let them have a graze then I bring them in to have a run around in my bedroom.

Re: Question Yes,that is what I meant. The top, wire part. I will have a look at pen ideas later, when I have more time.It is rainy today anyway - so no rush. But thanks for the idea.

Re: Question I use a wire top for my pigs. On the rare occaision they go outside, they mostly sit there and eat. I take them out more for some fresh air, grass, and change or environment than exercise. I do now have a larger pen that in the future I may use. If you wanted a larger enclosure, you could loosely zip tie some grids together to make an open topped pen that can be folded away when you're finished with it.

Re: Question Thank you. Stuart is not an overly active pig anyway...so I can see him just sitting there and eating or taking things in,so I probably don't need anything HUGE.But once we get some sun,I will see how it goes.
