Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Hi guys. I am moving in a while, and I plan on some upgrades for my two boars. We can't get the C&C stuff in Holland, which really sucks, but since I'm going to have to buy all kinds of things soon, I'll look for a nice way to construct a bigger cage. But that's not my biggest concern. The problem is, I'll finally have a garden, which would be great for some outdoor time (offcourse supervised). But there is no grass. There are just tiles. Can they hurt their feet walking on tiles for about an hour sometimes? I can't rip the tiles out cause it's a shared garden. Maybe putting some towels on the tiles would be a good idea? Or a big piece of vinyl? Any advice would be great! thanks |

It should be fine for a couple hours- probably will be good for them, actually- to help wear down their nails. Maybe you can plant some grass in pots for them. Use real dirt, though- at least here in the US potting soil has fertilizers and such in it. |

I wouldn't count on tile or brick wearing down a pig's nails at all. More than likely, if their feet slip or they don't like the texture of the tile, they will just stand there frozen. Taking them outside to play is great, but if you don't have a grassy area, I would recommend getting a couple of old towels or an old blanket to lay down for them to run around on. |

yeah I might just buy a fleece blanket for them to run on. And Alusdra, I'll grow myself some grass in pots, so they can chew on that and I'm sure it will be untreated. I can't wait to move! more room for me and the piggy's |
