moving We just bought a new house and I would like to put the guinea pigs (3) outside when the weather gets cooler. The previous owners had a dog in the back yard, it's been 3 months since they moved. I need to know how much longer I need to wait before it will be ok/safe to put the guinea pigs in an area out back?

Re: moving When you say put them out back, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean to put them out there for free range floor time or do you mean to let them live out there?

Re: moving Having your pigs outside when the weather is a decent temperature for some outdoor playtime when you can be there constantly to watch them can be a lot of fun for you and your pigs. If you're meaning that you want them to live outdoors, I would highly discourage it. There are too many variables and risks involved.

Re: moving If you want them to have free-range time, go for it! Guinea pigs love the fresh air and sunshine. If you want them to live outdoors, check with your local RSPCA. In some areas it's really not okay or even illegal.
