an outdoor garden/cage idea I'm working on a new design for our piggie garden & was wondering if this is absolutely insane, or if you think it would work. We have tons of cats in the neighborhood. And I do mean tons. The police have actually put out a warning that any & all cats they catch outdoors will be impounded or put down at their discretion, because they are overpopulated & attacking people now. Last year I turned a wading pool into a small garden for the piggies. For this next year, I would like to use the base from the 2x5 for a bigger garden. But I'm afraid that even if I'm right there, these cats could get to my boys. So I'd like to put a cage over it. Do you think that if I used cubes to build a 2-cube high covered cage it would work? Does anyone know how the cubes hold up outdoors during a rainy season? Or does anyone have any other ideas on how I could keep my piggies safe outside?

Re: an outdoor garden/cage idea Oh... this is, of course, just a garden. Our boys will still be housed in their indoor 3x5.

Re: an outdoor garden/cage idea I think it sounds like a great idea. Sort of a vacation house in the sunshine. Maybe just build walls and a grid roof that you can slide down over a coroplast tray. They cube grids should work fine outside. You might want to find some of the big U's that are used in gardens to hold down the weed cloth and use that to hold the walls to the dirt.
