Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Okay, so I think I am just overly paranoid, but I have noticed that one of my ferrets seems to have way thinner hair than my other two ferrets. She does not have any bald spots but her hair is still way thin, even if she does not have bald spots could this still be a sign of adrenal disease? I know ferrets shed twice a year but I feel like her coat should be back by now. She is about 3 years old and I think her coloring is a silver roan. I am taking her to the vet, but there is not an opening for 2 weeks. Also, does anyone know the price range of surgery? Thanks! |

I would reccomend getting it checked out. See if they have any cancellations that come up before then. I work for a vet, and we only see ferrets on an emergency basis. The ones we have seen do get strange adrenal tumors and insulinoma. Get it checked out as soon as you can. |

Yes, thinning hair can be a symptom of Adrenal Disease. What is your ferret's diet like? They require a specific ratio of high quality protein, fats and carbohydrates in their diet or they will be vulnerable to illness. |
