Question Hedge hog?

Hey everyone. A friend of mine is looking into getting a hedge hog and LOVES Bella's old cage so I was just wondering if C&C cages were ok for hedge hogs as well? She wants to build a 2x3 for her's. Thanks

Re: Hedge hog?

I have seen many people use them here. A 2x3 is a good size I would think but I'm not an expert in hedgehogs...

Re: Hedge hog?

Don't hedgehogs climb? If they do I would be careful.

I don't think they do, but if they did, she could always put a top on its cage.

Re: Hedge hog?

i use c&c cages for my hedgehogs. 2x2s are enough space, although a 2x3 or 2x2 with second level are ideal. I have 2 2x2s stacked on top of each other. she will need a top to it though because hedgehogs can and most will attempt to climb out. my boy had escaped twice before I finally secured the top properly. I've never seen my girl climbing though. Although I think she's too fat to climb... I don't know if I can post a link to another forum, so just remove it if I cant, but www.chins-n-hedgies.com is the hedgehog version of this forum.. . tons of great info.

Smile Re: Hedge hog?

I highly recommend that your friend checks out the Hedgehog Welfare Society's web site The Hedgehog Welfare Society. We also have a Yahoo group that is filled with great hedgie savvy people!

I am a Rescue Contact through them and would be happy to answer any questions that your friend might have regarding hedgie care!
