dwarf hamster--is it wet tail?

Wehn I was cleaning my dwarf hamster's cage tonight, I noticed his butt was all wet. I didn't notice any strange droppings in the carefresh, and he's been active every night, running and eating and drinking. When I look on google I can't even tell if dwarf hamsters GET wet tail. Should I be worried?

His water bottle also fell down earlier today and while I didn't see evidence of this, I suppose there's a chance he burrowed down in the area where a bunch of water dripped out. But when I saw the wetness was just his back end I got scared. I'm really inexperienced with dwarf hamsters and any insight would be appreciated.

thanks.

Re: dwarf hamster--is it wet tail?

Wet tail can be contracted by dwarf hamsters though it is uncommon. Wet tail is diarreah so check him for diarreah. Wet tail is a killer so if you are unsure or see diarreah take him to the vet. Then he can get the best treatment.
