Unhappy Chinchilla

Hi,
I have a problem. I'v known my friend since first grade and i am in 8th now and we are still friends. She got a new puppy when she moved and he is not trained well at all. He poops and pees in the house and jumps on people, he is just a bad trained dog. She has done nothing to train it. (Wow i got off subject) Anyway.... She got a hamster with me and like 2 months after getting it at Petsmart it died. Then she got a chinchilla and a few months after gettiing that it died also. Both of their cages were so messy and she never cleans he room. She took litte care of them but she did feed them. I felt kinda bad for the aniamls. Now she wants to get another chinchilla. I told her that if she gets one she sould adopt it casue that is were i got my guinea pig. I just don't think that she should get another pet. It is probably going to die with it's poor living conditions and I don't want to see that happen. The cage she has right now is a very small store bought cage.

Does anyone have any suggestion? I don't want her to get mad at me but I can't see another one of her pets die. (I love animals)

Re: Chinchilla

You need to tell her, flat out and honestly. You'll kick yourself if another one of her pets dies. And if she still gets another chin, then if I were you, I would check in on the chin every once in a while to make sure it's in fine living conditions, heathy, etc. I know she might get mad at you if you say that she hasn't been taking her responsibilities over these animals seriously, but if you don't tell her, another helpless animal will suffer for it.

Re: Chinchilla

Do her parents know about all this? Chins are pretty expensive, how does she get the money?

Re: Chinchilla

her dad bought the first one for her. She got it at Petsmart. If she does get another chinchilla then i will check in on it.
She lives with her mom and she never goes upstairs into my friend's room room becase the first floor is the kitchen and living room etc. and the second floor is her mom's room and bathroom so her mom never goes upstairs becaseu that is my friends room and guest room. He house is kinda messy also. Anyone have any suggestions on where she would be able to find a chinchilla at a rescue? Somewhere close to Rhode Island? Thank you for responding.

Re: Chinchilla

No rescue would adopt out to her if they knew, and I doubt any would adopt to a minor. Usually rescues only adopt to adults
