Dog killed in a pet groomer in Bandung, Indonesia

Yesterday when I read newspaper, one reader's letter shocked me.

In the letter, the writer wrote that she took two mini poms to Pet.Co, one pet store that also do pet grooming in Parijs Van Java Mall - Bandung, Indonesia.
When she came back to the petshop, the shop assistant told her that one of her dog killed (with the bleeding from the nose) when it jumped from the grooming table (personally I don't think the table is that high to killed a dog). The shop assistant only says sorry, and there's no further action were taken. The writer said "even the owner didn't even call me to said sorry". She also stated that those people who work in the pet stores, pet shops, and pet groomers should be able to treat the pets nicely.

I post this because i think it's good warning to all of us who owned dog, cat, or any pets that usually go to groomers to be careful when picking the pet groomers. Not pet groomers are treat the animal nicely, some of them only takes it as their job.

Re: Dog killed in a pet groomer in Bandung, Indonesia

I used to work with groomers and yes dogs would die. Customers would sign a waiver before giving us their dog. Stating that if anything should happen an emergency vet will be contacting immediatly following the incident.

We had a dog that was bleeding from the nose and mouth. He was sent to the vet and later died that night. When the owner asked us what we did to their dog, we did nothing. The vet concluded after a toxology report that they dog had been poisoned with Rat Poisoning.

Dogs often get into Rat poisoning without their owners knowing. Rat poisoning comes in 'cookie' form and tastes sweet, which makes it tempting to animals and small children.
The owner to this dog in this particular story could have signed a waiver, giving the grooming shop no responsibility (alot of grooming shops have this policy) OR an incident outside of the shop could have caused the death.

I see...
I think maybe that's the case.
Thank you for clearing this issue
