This was a few months ago, I was just thinking about it and decided to post, because I'm guessing most of you American's probably won't have heard about it .. I won't copy and paste, because I read something in the rules about not doing that unless you have permission..which I don't. Basically the story is this .. A little old widowed woman lived alone, and had a pet budgie, who really was the her only companion and company. Then some young men broke into her house one night, and demanded all her money. She of course was petrified and gave them the little she had .. one of the thugs then went over to her budgie cage, pulled it out and stamped on it, right in front of the poor woman, who was of course trumatised. How cruel , sick and unneccairy (sp?) If i'm allowed to post a link to a news article please let me know. I don't think the men were ever caught, and the woman was'nt badly injured.       |

That is so sad! If you don't mind asking what is a budgie? Is it a guinea pig or dog? |

O but why on earth would the hurt the ladies bird! I bet that hurt her seeing them hit it! That's messed up if someone picked up my piggy and smacked it i would go all kung fu ninja on them. No one hurts my pigs and gets away with it! >  |

That poor woman! And of course I bet the authorities suggested she "just go get another one". People, I swear..... |

I have a tortoise and an iguana ..and I'm sure given the chance, lowlives would steal and sell them .. And as for pigs, hamster ect ..they could be sold as feeders (  )I think I will probably put a lock on my pets cages at night and when I'm out ..It will give me peace of mind ..better be safe then sorry! I guess it could stop a crafty pet from opening the cage too! What do you all think? |

Its so sad that some people are so miserable that they have to go out nd ruin it for some helpless elderly woman. My greatgrandma loves her bird and would be so sad it that happened to hers. |

I couldn't agree more with licavy - I would probably go all kung-fu ninja on them too! Old ladies probably can't do that though... Really, what did that accomplish?? Stealing money and then brutelly (sp?) killing an innocent (sp? - spelling is not my deal today...) bird?? That's just...er...I really don't have a word for it...NOW I'M HOPPIN' MAD!!! I hope they get caught and someone whips out their kung fu moves on those idiot thugs!! |
