Careless Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

I saw this on the news yesterday and was absolutely horrified. It just goes to show how lazy some people can really be. I know lots of dogs who would find being in that "washing machine" to be a terrifying and traumatic experience. What do you guys think? I think it REALLY depends on the dog, but, I would think that most dogs would be scared out of their minds being trapped in the confined box with water pouring all over them like that....I mean, so many things can go wrong with that!!

Dog-o-matic Dog Washing Machine Looks Unpleasant But Effective The UberReview

All that soap and water being sprayed into the eyes and mouth like that! That has to be painful or at least extremely unpleasant.

I definitely would not use it! If someone can't clean their dog themselves take it to a groomer. My dog would freak out in something like that.

That is just plain cruelty! Maybe the owner should sit in there and see if they can even breath with all that water going in their face. To look at that dogs face in the video was sooooo sad to me!

Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

Really???? What is this the Jetson's? I have 2 large boxers - 85lbs and 70lbs - Every month before their frontline I tell them to get in the tub, and I use the detachable shower head to clean them - what is the big deal? I think this is a bad idea, and could cause major anxiety and unnecessary stress to one's furbaby.

Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

Well, then...Why don't we all just go and throw our pets in a lousy washing machine. This is up there on one of the worst things I've ever seen. My dog is terrifed to go into the lake when we go to the cottage, so I think this would set her off the deep end! And she's a water dog! Dear lord...

100% agreed, it's disgusting what people put animals through like they don't have any feelings.

Every cat or dog I know would be absolutely terrified of that!
That was beyond stupidity to put a cat in there (well, for dogs too. But you know what I mean)!
What is wrong with giving a dog a bath yourself? I love bathing and grooming animals!

Sheesh. So inhumane. Just use that dog washer that has all the soap/water inside. Like a hose. Its cheap and easier to use then spending like 3,000 dollars on a washer!

That is so mean, I would never use that! I was matching a video on that when they put a cat in it. The poor thing was jumping and hit the side trying to get out! It probably scares them to death!

Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

That is disgusting! Talk about giving your pet a complex. Now what happens when you turn on your home washer/dryer, it rains?!, etc. You have yourself a neurotic dog, thats what! <shakes head sadly> What is this lazy world coming to??? What next, a unit painted in pastels for those too lazy to bathe thier own children?!

Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

If your to lazy to wash your own dog, take it to the groomer. But try not to terrify it by putting it in a machine.

I do remember one of my friends dogs that loved the hose. He got all excited whenever you got the hose out. He would chase the water spray around and attack it. Got him right in the face sometimes but he kept coming back for more.

Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

That's "expletive" sick. What the hell is this world coming to???? The poor dogs.....they're getting shot with soap and water in their eyes and face. If they're that darn lazy to bathe their dogs the old fashion way...then they shouldn't have dogs in the first place! And Cats? Someone actually put a cat in that thing???...that's really "expletively" sick too...dumb morons

Plus the animals were terrified. Who ever invented this inhumane thing, should take a spin in it and see how he likes it. Soap, water and all.

Angry Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

For some dogs this may work...it might be like a great shower...but how do we know what dos like it and what dogs don't? I think that people who can't wash their own dogs should ask someone else to help, these machines may look good and it seems that they do the job, however you have to ask yourself one question before you put any animal in any situation, and that is "Would you like it?"I think not, being locked up in a small box to have water and soap sprayed in your face? I washed my guinea pigs recently and it was a great experience for both me and my guineas, bathing pets helps bonding and therefore should be something you do yourself, if not you then someone else who is close to that animal. My final point is…your pet is like your child, would any of us here put a child, someone who looked up to us and was totally dependant on us, in a machine like that? There used to be a place like this near me, thankfully it has closed down.

Re: Dog o' Matic dog "washing machine"...inhumane??

This can be used on bigger dogs, but little dogs should be hand washed, if something happens to my dog in one of them things, I'm sewing the pants off those people.
