In this week's sunday paper insert for Petco they were using G-Force to advertise their guinea pigs too. As if it's even necessary! |

They had posters, t-shirts- hats- I had to get out of there.. It made me very upset! Then to top it off I watched some teenage girl just point and say "i want that one" and they just box it up and thats it!!!! no information about them, nothing!!!! shell just go home and she wont know how to care for it! |

Those who are on networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, get the word out about G-Force and educate people you know by posting info about guinea pig care in your status. I posted this as my current status: People, don't BUY guinea pigs, period - adopt. And if you do get them, do your research FIRST. Don't get them because of some silly animated movie with guinea pigs in it (ahem G-Force ahem). It's irresponsible to do so! Parents don't give in to your kids pleas to get one just because they saw the movie. These are living things, not some toy that the kids can get tired of in a couple of weeks. Also, keep in mind, guinea pigs live 5-7 years on average. If you get one based on the whims of a child, are YOU prepared to take care of it for years to come? They also need at least 7.5 sq ft of space to live in so store cages are NOT big enough. They need fresh veggies every day and unlimited hay. They do NOT use exercise wheels or exerballs. Those things can cause damage to their spine. I plan to post information about guinea pig care too. Use those mediums as your forum for educating people. You know people on those sites will see it. I've already had people ask me questions about it. Let's get the word out there. |

I was reading my local newspaper this morning and in it there was an article about G-Force and also pets at home. My local Pets at home are planning on doing educational workshops to explain the care of guinea-pigs and how much time and dedication that they need. I know its no where near perfect but for a pet shop to recognise the impact of a film in regards to an animal, its something |

I just saw the movie the other day and they got so many things wrong about piggies; it's like they didn't know anything about them. One thing that was driving me crazy besides the wrong info about their care, they had way too much hair on their ears. The back of them were completely covered with it. It's like they didn't even look at guinea pigs to see that they have naked ears, let alone bald spots. Another thing, the way they had them walk when they were on all fours was too smooth. I don't know of any pigs that walk without some kind of waddle or hop in their step. How can we expect them to know how to properly care for a piggie when they can't even get the physical stuff right? |

So, I saw g-force, I just had to see it to see what else they got wrong... and I had a gift card the the movie theater. It was horible. Not just because of the way they treated guinea pigs but it was just well... bad! I keep posting that thing on craigslist that paula_m_more posted. |

I haven't seen it yet. Also in my Petsmart/Petco ad they were advertising G-Force. =\ They are also on sale for only 20 at petsmart but still 35 at Petco. My sister had to run in and get some toys for the cats. I refuse to go in there! Unless you use a petstupid card you get 10 off!! I was so mad! I took that ad and put it through the shredder!! |

I don't live near hay farms, so Petsmart is my only option for buying hay. I pick up a big bag when I volunteer every other week with the cats. |

I saw the movie G-Force today and I was very upset. The balls and hamster wheel and guinea pigs eating nuts was one thing, but the thing that made me irrate was the way the two spoiled kids in the movie treated the guinea pigs. First off the boy picked one out and when the grandpa turned around he tried to hurl it into a snakes cage. When he and his sister got home she was dressing her's in clothes, putting nail polish on its toes, lipstick on its lips and an earring in it's ear. The boy put his into a remote control car and was running it around the room and jumping the car over ramps and things. The sick thing is is that kids will see that and think it is cool and will try it at home. I have seen u-tube videos of kids putting their guinea pigs in romote control cars. I just thought it was very irresponsible of Disney to glamorize being cruel to animals. |

I will not be going to see that movie. The less money it makes, in my opinion, the better. I think it is different when producers make movies with dogs and cats, because parents will be more hesitant to get an animal that is more of a responsibility. But with a guinea pig, because they are so inexpensive and supposedly "easy pets to own", many parents think that the care will be low cost as well. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I have heard in several places that Petsmart, not Petco as much, but Petsmart advertising G-Force. And in another post it said guinea pigs were on sale at Petsmart? Just a coincidence, or a marketing plan? Kids watch the movies, kids watch the ads on TV for Petsmart, why not make it easier for the parents, and put them on sale? It will make Pet not so smart wealthier, and cause more animals to be bred. Thanks Disney and Petsmart!! |

Well today I sat down with my kids (4 and 9) and watched G force. It's everything that your not suppose to do with a Guinea pig. If i didn't know a thing about pigs i'd say I would have actually enjoyed it. But as is,my 4 year old knew a lot more than i credited her for . Wheels, pet store, awful snake waiting for the pig to fly into it's glass House, the saw dust bedding. The only part I liked was the music and the piggie acting like a snow angel in the saw dust. |
