The "HiveMind" says you can find another board that shares your same views and go there instead of harassing members here that don't believe the same way as you!

Re: "Blinders" movie - a must see!

As tourists from England we saw the carriage horses, they looked beautiful from a distance from the hotel room but my heart sank as we got nearer to them they looked unhappy, cold and had been there for ages it totaly put me off.

What are you talking about?

In my honest opinion, your posts don't make too much sense. Maybe you can go to another forum, or come back here when you're in a stable state of mind. No offense meant whatsoever, but what you just said sounds like what those homeless people dressed in cloaks, standing on top of something, preach about downtown. You know, the whole end of the world ordeal. This is not the forum for such nonsense, but I'm sure there are many many other free-for-all forums out there for you to enjoy more than this one.

It makes sense, it's just pointless.

What this shtinkypuppie person is missing, or choosing to ignore, is that there is absolutely no reason to try and change the mind of the person who put the rule in place. It's her private site, she pays for it, she runs it, she can do what she wants with it.

You can whine and moan and complain about it all you want, but in the end it's of no consequence. No one cares that you think it's a ridiculous rule, because the person that owns this forum can do what she wants. That's not to say that everyone agrees with or even likes the rule, but those of us that wish to participate in the forum abide by the rules dictated by the owner because the rules are hers to make.

Really, if you want to participate in the forum, great. That means you'll have to shut up about the PETA rule and sally forth whether you like it or not. If you just can't get over it, fine. Go find a forum that's more to your liking and stop wasting everyone's time here.

You presume that I aim to change any of you zealots' minds. You are incorrect. I have no illusions about how stubborn and hardheaded you are. The fact that you fail even to deny my original assertion, and continue to refute me on the basis of 'forum rules', merely underscores this.

This is pathetic. Why don't you just move on and be done with it. No one cares that you want to change Teresa's mind, no one cares that you've accepted you can't. I'm not confirming or denying anything you said because it does not matter. It's pointless. Please, move on or at least shut up about it.

Re: "Blinders" movie - a must see!

It's not a matter of trying to force everyone to agree or being intolerant of opposing views on PETA/animal welfare/animal rights organization. The issue, which experience has demonstrated time and time again, is that it's impossible to have an intelligent debate about the topic.

Unfortunately, allowing a conversation about the pros vs. cons of such organizations merely results in diatribes and vitriol - on both sides of the coin - and the discussion dissolves into name calling, insults, and, of course, per Godwin's law, a reference to someone being Nazi-like or Hitler-ish.

The owner of this site, recognizing what happens in every discussion regarding PETA/animal organizations, and recognizing her own bias on the subject, wisely decided that the forum would simply be a better, more informative place without such discussions.

Everyone who comes here is free to think and feel whatever they want to regarding PETA or other animal rights organizations; there is NO expectation that all members support and/or feel the same way towards the animal rights movement. The expectation is that all members behave maturely and follow the directives of the site owner by NOT engaging in discussion/debate on animal rights organizations. Should you wish to participate in those types of discussions, you'll find no shortage of arenas in which to do so. Please avail yourself of those avenues of discussion and leave the PETA/animal rights organization debates off *this* forum.

Re: "Blinders" movie - a must see!

That might be a tenable line if it weren't for posts like this, where you do exactly what you claim to never do as a matter of policy/practical necessity/however you want to justify it. Oops. You defend your ideology until it becomes inconvenient, then you bring down the rule against discussing it.

"You're wrong, and here's why... You're wrong too, because... uh... uh...
Hey! Wait! We don't debate that here."

The owner of this site had acknowledged a pro-animal rights bias. If others want to AGREE with that bias is one thing. *Debating* (meaning to present opposing views) is a different matter entirely. It's not a matter of the policy becoming "inconvenient" - it's a matter of taking it at it's word. That there is to be NO debating the merits of PETA or any other animal rights group here on this forum. No where have we stated that mentioning PETA, belonging to PETA, or stating an agreement with PETA (or any other animal rights organization) is forbidden. All that is frowned upon is the criticism and debate of such groups ... for the reasons I already gave you.

Shtinkpuppie: If you have any further disagreements, thoughts, feelings, or issues with this directive, please take it up directly with the site owner or one of the management.

In answering and refuting michaeleen's posts, you are debating him, whether you like to admit it or not. Heed your own advice. If it's not a battle you wish to fight, you may want to stop fighting it.

Re: "Blinders" movie - a must see!

Yes it was a debate. He was insulting me and everyone else.

Just please stop with your nonsense! You are not stating anything new. You are trying so hard to cause trouble here, do you not have anything else to do? Its rather sad.

You are also trying to put yourself in this 'I'm so much smarter than you' light. What a ego.

I am not longer feeding this troll, or immature person who has no idea when to stop and move on. He is just going to keep coming back again to say something irrelevant once more to try and get more attention for himself.

Re: "Blinders" movie - a must see!

Shtinkypuppie: Again, please address any further concerns/comments about this issue directly with the site owner/site management via private message or email.

To everyone else: please don't respond to any more comments about PETA or any other animal rights group, not even to defend them or to state that this site is "pro-peta." Please utilize the "report a post" feature, which will allow the management to deal with the issue.

If everyone will follow this path, we should hopefully have no more discussions of this nature.

Thank you.
