I'm glad I don't use any of those foods-but thank you, attackofthebear, for posting so anyone who does feed it can stop. |

Yes thank you and also important to let anyone know who does feed these foods and thinks they have recently fed this food, they personally can get the salmonella. And no not from eating the pet food, . But if their hands touched the pet food while feeding and then they somehow contacted their mouth before washing their hands or something like that, they also could contract salmonella. So just to be aware, especially if younger kids help feed the pets.Thankfully the food I feed my dogs has yet to be on any of the recalls in the last couple of years. Makes me feel good about my dog food choice. |

Thank you for posting this. A couple of years ago, I switched my Rat Terrier to an organic dog food that I purchase at the local organic market. I learned the hard way about the junk that can contaminate the dog and cat food during the last recall. I had been feeding Sophie Eukanuba and she became very ill. She required a lot of vet care and we took turns keeping vigil over her twenty-four hours a day for three weeks. Fortunately she made it, but she could have died. Not long after that the recall was issued. I'm almost 100% certain it was the food, because she tested negative for snake or spider bites, cancer, tumors and poison. It's so scary when these recalls are being issued on what most people believe to be safe, quality foods from well-known, respectable companies. |
