Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Hi everyone, I'm writing to you today because you have adopted from the APPR or inquired about adoption. We are involved in what may be the largest single rescue we've taken on to date. While I understand this is unorthodox, know that this is not a decision that we, as a non-profit, chose lightly. For us, it's really very simple, either help the piggies, or do nothing. I will not - do nothing. There is a breeder in Arizona who supplies Rainbow Exotics out of Texas. Many of you have heard of PETA’s investigation into Rainbow Exotics, January 28, 2008. If not, here is a link to the video. BEWARE: It’s not for the faint of heart. Take Action: Undercover Investigation Uncovers Horrors at PetSmart and PETCO Supplier's Breeding Mill While the conditions at the breeder do not justify intervention from Animal Control, and they have investigated this breeder before, they are bad enough to require our attention. This breeder keeps up to 50 piggies in each of several baby pools, in a garage with no A/C or fans. In the seven years this family has been breeding, never have they utilized the services of a Vet. • They perform c-sections on dead sows to save the $8 per pup they get from the wholesaler. We took 2 pregnant sows home with us on our first visit on Friday, June 27th. Yesterday, Pumpkin, one pig that had her foot amputated, started bleeding, so we took her to the Vet. During the C-section, Dr. M found all 4 pups to be dead, for some time. Pumpkin was euthanized as a result of the infection in her uterus and bowels. She had been breed so many times that "she had the body of a 6 year old pig" when in fact she was just 2 years old. We need to raise $1,000 to get these piggies out. This includes costs, feed, foster care and potential vet bills. Not only are we stopping the senseless, cold hearted breeding of these poor piggies, but we are stopping a major supplier to the commercial pet trade and most importantly we are giving comfort and hope to 100 lives. Please if you can, help us by making a donation today, on our website www.piggiepoo.org. Even $5 will make a huge difference. If you are willing to foster, or volunteer in other ways, please let me know. If you know of anyone interested in adopting, fostering, volunteering or donating cash, please spread the word. If you do decide to donate, we are so happy to apply that donation toward the adoption of a sweet, beautiful pig, or three! Thank you so much for your support. You are truly their angels.
