I heard this on the news yesterday and was totally horrified. It seems birds built a nest in this woman's bathroom vent and mites got inside the house and completly infested the house and the woman. She was taken out of the house in a Hazmat suit and is in the hospital in quarantine. The landlord is saying that she is making it up and that she hasn't paid the rent in months. The woman says that the landlord refused to take care of the mites. Mite-ridden Levittown woman taken to hospital in hazmat suit -- Newsday.com There is the link from my local newspaper. That is pretty scary! They must've been pretty nasty! I hope she's alright. I wonder if any animals she might've had are alright. |

That's horrible. I wouldn't pay the rent either if the landlord refused to do anything about it. Poor Woman! |

Wow...I feel horrible for that woman. Ditto Ziggy-I wouldn't give that landlord anything if he refused to take care of that. :0 |

I thought mites couldn't pass to humans? Guinea pig mites anyways;are other mites different? |
