8 Dogs drown to death in Piedmont, MO

They stood no chance. 8 of the 15 dogs at Piedmont Animal Control in souteastern Missouri died yesterday when the creek overflowed its banks and flooded the small town. Their single (yes they only have 1) person who works at animal control brought 7 of the dogs to her house and when she came back 1 hour later for the others the water was too high to get in safely and it was already too late, she did all she could but it wasn't enough. The remaining dogs are safe in her barn and all 14 cats were scared but okay. The remaing animals are being brought up to St. Louis and placed in rescue groups.

I have a bunch of family there and I'm worried about them :/ They are the kind of people who don't evacuate... the whole town was hit hard and the narional gaurd was called in. KSDK NewsChannel 5 - Video Center=

At least the animals that did survive, did survive, it could've been alot worse.

And the for the St. Louis area...the water is still going up. I hope this doesn't happen up here too.

I am so sorry to hear about those poor dogs! They didn't even have a chance!
