Paris Hilton drives me up a wall! I have a dog myself and I have bred dogs before (I had two parents and a litter of 13!) Anyway, why doesn't she get rid of any of them!?! Sell them, donate them, give them to a good shelter, just don't let them breed anymore!!

You don't want to sell because it is not right to think of an animal as merchandise. You do not want to donate them because then they will be euthanized, and that is the same thing that will happen to giving them to a good shelter. Just sayin'.

I have honestly tried to give Paris the benefit of the doubt on many occasions. I mean, look how famous she has become by playing the ditzy blond. But at every possible opportunity, even when she is apparently trying very hard to do otherwise, she just goes and proves what an idiot she really is. She is a genuine clueless tool. That makes me physically sick to read things like that. The good thing is she probably has enough money and enough staff to take care of them. But still... she needs to get them fixed! I'm glad they're investigating the situation because I just don't see how 17 dogs can all be adequately cared for in one household. I guess we'll see how this all plays out... there will be tons of media coverage no doubt!

How do we know she takes good care of them? For all we know they live in cramped cages in her basement

Also its not the fact that she has 17 dogs, its the fact that she is letting them breed, and probably even inbreed.

Because she has loads of money, is famous and says she loves them that somehow makes her exempt from regular animal welfare concern?

And since when was 'love' enough? The responsibility of keeping an animal goes way beyond love. Training / one-on-one time is needed and not letting the poor creatures inbreed - which can result in painful and potentially fatal pregnancies and ill off spring.

She prances around with them in little handbags as if they are a fashion accessory.

Because people show concern for an animal's welfare like we would if they were any other person we MUST be jealous?

I think you have a lot to learn.

If I had all that money, I would totally get 17 dogs that there is no possible way I could give attention, then pay other people to tend to their basic needs as they inbreed and result in suffering. But it would be okay, because I would definitely tell the news media that I "love" them.
