Nasty beef recall - way too late!

Sorry if you just ate dinner, but this is worth the read. Especially if you have kids who eat school lunches, or eat them yourself:

Re: Nasty beef recall - way too late!

I heard about this. And it came from a producer involved in a lot of animal cruelty.

It's a terrible waste. All those cows had to die for nothing.....

Anybody know what happens to all that recalled beef? I've been wondering that- like how do they dispose of it all?

Since the beef was produced in 2006, I think most of it has been digested long ago.

See... it's things like that they make me all teary-eyed and wanna be a vegetarian... except for that whole I-really-hate-all-vegetables-thing.... *sigh*

I'm depressed now.

Re: Nasty beef recall - way too late!

Wiggley...I'm the most fussy eater ever...have been since I was a baby, want to hear something so stupid? When I was 14 I took about 50 mins to try a bean and was nearly in tears lmao ! I despise vegetables but it's still easy being a vegetarian with Quorn etc but it's weird because since I've become a vegetarian I have actually begun to like some vegetables and enjoy eating baby carrots - my favourite, they are sweet.

Anyway this article is really disgusting. Eurgh I have eaten meat in schools before x[ can't imagine what was in that! It tasted horrible anyway.

Re: Nasty beef recall - way too late!

I hear that there is a Youtube video about the recall, but that it is not for the squeamish. I have no desire to see it (what I have read has been distressing enough, and I have a puking toddler tonight so my stomach is at its limit already) but maybe some brave soul could seek it out and link it for those who want to see it.

Re: Nasty beef recall - way too late!

Seeing it on the news last night made me cry. I cannot understand how anybody could be so cruel to a helpless animal. I hope it causes the plant to shut down.

Re: Nasty beef recall - way too late!

I saw the video at least a week ago on here and it is horrible. The poor cows were being pushed around by forklifts and being prodded and kicked. One poor cow had a rope around 1 leg and they were dragging it to the slaughter. If you have a weak stomach I wouldn't watch it. I wish I hadn't.

If you watch the whole Meet Your Meat video, you can see what all animals raised for food go through: YouTube - Meet your Meat
