Re: Pet Photo Contest I entered my bulldog, and my husband entered my german pinscher dog. My boys only have one vote so far from me..hehe. I just entered them now though, so maybe they will get some more votes. What are your piggies names? I will vote for them. My bulldog is Pugsley, and my other dog is Kane, he is the black one ![]()

Re: Pet Photo Contest Oh my gosh! Reading about and looking at the great pictures is like eating potato chips, you can't stop at just one. I am cross eyed from reading and looking at so many!

Re: Pet Photo Contest I can't enter Lois!! I guess they consider tortoises "wild" animals and not suitable for pets. I never knew this about the humane society. I'm kind of sad now.

Re: Pet Photo Contest I emailed them to ask their resoning about this. I got a rather long lecutre about how wild animals belong in the wild! I wanted to send off an angry reply with Lois' story, but I restrained myself. Lois came from a local zoo because they had rescued her mom. The mom was illegaly wild caught and smuggled into the country from Brazil and laid a clutch of eggs almost as soon as she left the first vet check! Lois and her siblings lived at the zoo and were part of a traveling teaching program until they out grew their space. The zoo director adopted the babies out and I got lucky enough to get Lois. I suppose that even though Lois did not come directly from "the wild", having her picture up there would encourage people to buy tortoises from irresponsible breeders with wild caught stock. Still, I'm irked that they just assumed this was me!

Re: Pet Photo Contest The tortoise I can kind of understand, but the potbelly pig should be allowed to enter. I owned an potbelly pig in my apartment in the city. He was the best, he is now living on an apple orchard with a family friend and another potbelly pig. He loves cleaning up all the fallen apples. Anyway back on topic, potbelly pigs are more known as pets than anything else. If horses can be entered then so should a pig of any type.
