Pet Shop Owner Charged With Torturing Animals

(AP) LYNWOOD, Calif. A Lynwood pet store owner has pleaded not guilty to 22 felony counts of animal cruelty, ranging from torture to mutilation.

According to an indictment, Animal House Pet Store owner Young Sam Park allegedly performed surgery on animals without anesthesia, suffocated them with rubber gloves and disposed of sick and dying pets in a trash bin. He also allegedly deprived animals in his care of food and water and taped them to tables during surgery.

Park is also charged with three misdemeanors for practicing veterinary medicine without a license and one felony count for possessing a controlled substance, an anesthetic.

Park's daughter says the accusations are false.

He's being held on more than $451,000 bail.

Park faces up to 22 years in prison if convicted.

Oh my. I hope he gets all 22 years. If it was up to me, he would be in prison for the rest of his life.

What in the world was he even performing surgery for I wonder?!
Anyways people are sick, but nothing ceases to amaze me anymore. I hope he gets the 22 years, but in all reality he most likely wont. He'll get probation and community service work. The most he would get any jail time for was the controlled substance. Crimes against animals are not punished properly.

I fully agree. If anybody EVER harmed one of my animals, I would be serving time for getting revenge!! I bet if he got a good enough attorney he could get away with probation for the controlled substance. An ex boyfriend I had got arrested for a controlled substance and since he had no prior arrrests all he got was 2 years probation and a small amount of community service!!

I think those who hurt animals are one of the sickest people. It's like harming a baby. They are completly helpless you know? I get so angry about hearing cases of animal abuse.

Ugh...What a sicko. How could you ever hurt a small, cute, defenseless animals who have done nothing to deserve such treatment. I agree, tie him to a table and operate on him with no anesthetic. Weirdo.
