This is horrible. It would make me happy if they kicked him out of the team, if they don't I will be so mad and I know many people will be too.

I read that same article that envisionary333 posted on CNN.com and what really ticks me off is the whole "hip-hop culture put Vick in this bind". What a load of crap. Vick put HIMSELF in this bind. He is NOT a victim. I get so tired of the media playing the blame game with these irresponsible celebrities/athletes. These are GROWN PEOPLE who need to take responsibility for their own actions and STOP pointing the finger at everyone and everything else.

Vick is a sick person and should NOT be paid by the NFL or Atlanta Falcons while on trial. On article posted in this thread said that while he was told not to report to training camp, he would not lose the pay he would receive. Unacceptable. He should not be rewarded for being twisted and cruel.

It also sickens me that the media plays into the negative pit bull image. While reporting on this issue, instead of showing dogfights in the background, they should be showing TRUE information about the pit bull breed - that these are lovable, intelligent dogs. Why can they not show all the pit bulls in history that have done wonderful, heroic things and enlighten people instead of playing into the fear?

I just really don't understand this world anymore.

Well I do think the NFL has to be rather "diplomatic" in how they handle him. After all- we are supposed to assume people are innocent until proven guilty. They can't hang him before his trial even starts. But I obviously think he shouldn't be playing football.

There is no way he will get more than a few years tops. He truly deserves serious time, I would like to see him get 10+ years myself. The murder of animals should be a capitol offense.

All I can say is I erally hope they give him the maximum penalty possible. Everything about dog fighting is abhorant - it encourages criminal behaviour, causes indescribable suffering and death to innocent animals, increases the false impression of "dangerous dogs" being of certain breeds leading to BSL and more suffering and death, and can get people killed when one of these poor abused animals is put in a situation it can't deal with. I wish they would throw away the key for people who are involved.

He had knowledge of, and financed the direct murder of 7 dogs. It may be more than that, but that is all the remains they found on the property. He will never be punished adequatley enough in my eyes. The sad thing really, is all the kids that admire him, and now they admire his "gangsta" lifestyle. He should also be punished for committing these acts as a role model imho.

I was watching a clip on CNN about this last night and one of the commentators said what he did was deplorable but that he is hated more than the athletes that abuse their family members. I feel bad for the dogs that were involved but maybe they can change the laws considering all of the press dog fighting has recieved lately.

Considering that 75% of homes where animal abuse occurs, domestic violence occurs too-I think the penalities should be high. These people lack empathy towards anyone besides themselves. Drug trafficing also occurs in these rings....it is just terrible no matter how you look at it. I hope he gets more then a year in prison.

I heard about this on the radio- It really is sickening. I think the government needs to set down some harsher punishments for any type of abuse or neglect.. Dog fighting is both.

It makes me sick when I hear the news reports that make him sound SO innocent by saying that he personally didn't kill any dogs. Well, isn't that just angelic of him! What about torture, maiming, and abuse? Not only of the pits, but the golden retrievers (and any other "bait" for training)??

And, as far as admitting the gambling...he'll never do it. That's the one, and only, thing that will get his disgusting banned from the NFL for good. How sad it that? Torturing and murdering innocent creatures gets you suspended...simply spending your money in a certain (albeit; stupid) way gets you banned - go figure.

Somebody told me that they saw on Court TV that the judge for his case has a picture of his dog on his desk. So, hopefully being a animal lover, he will be extra harsh with the sentencing. I hope he does get kicked out the NFL. All this guy knows how to do is beat the crap out of things, so take that away from him and what good is he. Now, if only he could get kicked out of the human race.
