Rabbits/pigs together - ebay disaster - help - Page 2

I just recieved a response to the question I put 'Are you aware that it is unethical to sell/offer as a 'bonus' live animals on e-Bay?' pointing out the other ways to rehome unwanted guinea pigs. Here is the response, which didn't fill me with hope (are 4H an American showing circuit?):

4H encourages breeding/showing and selling (including selling to slaughter) of animals by children.

Good point about 4H, Voodoojoint. When I was 9 I raised a lamb as a 4H project. This was in a farming community. This lamb learned to do tricks and followed me everywhere. The final stage of the project was taking the lamb to auction. I had to sell what had become the family pet to Shoprite for 25 cents a pound. The whole family cried all the way home. I never raised another animal for 4H and I never ate lamb again.

It's so gratifying to see that we can get together and make a small change for the better. Hopefully with even more of us involved we will make even bigger changes in the future.

I always heard such good things about 4H- it's horrible about that poor lamb. (I reported them, too- though I forgot to mention it... had to dig and find my password and re-activate an e-mail account to do it
