| Re: California Pet-Fixing Bill Like the German Shepherd, breeders are breeding them to be angled. Some breeders think that the more angle they have the better the dog is. All angling does is mess up their hips. I have seen dogs so angled that their butts are just about dragging on the ground as the walk. The funny thing is, breeders can't figure out why GSD have a problem with hip dysplasia. Very few GSD will OFA better than fair, my GSD was OFA very good, but than again, he was square meaning no angle. Bandit was a very large dog measuring 26" and weighed (in his prime) 120lbs. When he died at the ripe old age of 15 and he had no problems with his hips. I wish these breeders would leave well enough alone. Let dogs be the way mother nature intened it to be, it's the best way....the only way. You mess with genetics and you will have problems and that goes for ALL animals. |
