Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

Oh and I used it all on my daughter as well, she really didn't like the Trichomania shampoo and the coolaulin conditioner, said "I want pantene mummy"

We had a big talk about WHY I got the things I did from where I did, and she was so shocked, she didn't realise that animals were used this way, and said she definately wants to keep using lush stuff. I was going to show her some online pictures, but her reaction to just talking about it was enough, she would be traumatised I think seeing it in front of her face like that.

Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

I haven't found any of the lush conditioners that I really like. None of them seem to really, truly condition enough, particularly after their more drying shampoos. I really like Aveda's conditioners; they are all natural and cruelty free as well. Do you have Aveda where you live? I like the damage remedy conditioner best.

I got a new Lush shampoo bar today, and i like it very much. It's the "new" bar; it's round and red and made of cinnamon and cloves. Strong scent, but it's supposed to stimulate the scalp and help your hair follicles hold on to your hair. My hair falls out easily, particularly with pony tail holders or strong brushing or over zealous scrubbing, so I thought i'd try this. I expected it to be very drying, but i was pleasantly surprised. Not drying at all, the smell is not so strong in your hair, and hardly any of my hair fell out.

I don't use a lot of the moisturizers, other than the Buffy bar, so I can't help too much there.

I also tried this hair treatment to help with dryness and split ends. It worked fairly well. HSuan Wen Hua Hair Treatment.

Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

Dream Cream is awesome for moisturizing.

Susan I want this new shampoo bar. Does it have a name? With my weight loss and surgery my hair is falling out in clumps. I stopped doing the pony tail thing a long time ago. I have one of those claw clips now and I just twist my hair up and clip it. It has been a lot less damaging to my hair and made a big difference in the overall health and look of my hair.

Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

It's actually called the "new" bar. New shampoo, I think. I really like it. I also used it as soap this morning, as I ran out of my usual soap.

As an update, my plan to be frizz free in 2007 is not going as well as I would like. Part of the problem is dryness, which I'm hoping to correct with this "new" bar and some stuff from Aveda. I"m also hoping to get one of those good flat irons you told me about.

I try to avoid pony tail holders and stick to the big claw clips, too, but I can't sleep with those plastic clips on my head - no matter where I put them, I seem to want to lay on them. And I can't sleep with my hair in my face either ... how do you manage with the clips?

Have you tried the clip on the very top of your head? Kinda like Pebbles Flinstone style? Not very good for sex appeal, but very good for sleeping. Have you had your hair trimmed lately?

Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

Why not use a scrunchy? The soft crumpled looking fabric elasticated band thingies for holding your hair back? (I don't know if you guys call them scrunchies, hence the explanation!) I only ever tie my hair back at night if it is very hot, and always wondered if that was why other people did it too. I can't use the claw clips because my hair is heavy and poker straight, it just slips right out of them, which kinda sucks because they look so good. But I won't complain. Frizz would actually drive me crazy. It's just as well that I have straight hair, I'm so lazy about what I do with it I would look a terrible state if it needed serious styling! I just wouldn't do it! I don't even blow-dry. I like the pebbles flintstone analogy. I too am a flintstone hairstyle sporter on summer nights, but with a scrunchy. You should see me by morning....on second thoughts probably best not.

Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

Hey muffin we can them scrunchies too. As for the claw clips we have some new ones over here that have some rubbery grips on the inside. It keeps them from slipping out of my hair when I straighten it. Might be worth a try if you have something like that over there.

Re: Body Shop Gone BAD?!

My hair breaks easily due to pony-tail holders too. Instead of putting it in a tail at night I do a loose braid. That way the only hair that would be damaged is the ends which get cut off when I go for a trim anyways.
