| 176 rabbits confiscated in Illinois Here's a short article: ABC7Chicago.com: Rabbits rescued from Iroquois County farm And a TV interview with the owner, which shows the rabbits. You can see the entire unedited interview by clicking on the small picture to the right. MyFox Chicago | Humane Society Investigates Abuse of Hundreds of Rabbits I can't believe he thinks he's taking good care of them! This guy is obviously in way over his head, especially since he can't afford electricity and with all the garbage piled up. The shelter is going to need a lot of help! |

| Re: 176 rabbits confiscated in Illinois He's a collector. The type who just want to "rescue' and 'help' animals by continuously adopting or more like breeding if they are't fixed. He himself won't see there is a problem though its obvious to everyone else. |

| Re: 176 rabbits confiscated in Illinois He's near Chicago. Maybe the law schools there have legal clinics and he thinks he can get some help for free. I hope their legal clinics are like ours and only help people with legitimate cases -- landlord/tenant propblems, custody battles, probate, children's rights. The Animal Welfare Law Society would be all over our legal clinic's back if they took a case like this guy's. |

| Re: 176 rabbits confiscated in Illinois Actually Rabbit Breeders have set up a fund to help him pay for his Court cost as well as pulled together to help him get the Property cleaned up for Auction since it was his Deceased parents property. All of the cages were removed to another Breeders Farm and Cleaned up in Preperation for him to get his animals back. I really hope he can get his personal life straightened up and gets help setting prioritys before he gets back into the whole breeding and showing again. The idea of Having so many animals that he can't afford Electricity would tell me that he needs some counciling of some sort. I don't think he needs Charges I think he needs real help. |

I really don't think he needs to get any of these animals back, or be allowed to begin the breeding/keeping/hoarding process all over again. I'm 'so glad' that rabbit breeders are pitching in and doing a good deed to help this guy. ![]() Ultimately it will fall upon the rescues to foster and rehome these buns; just like it falls on the rescues to foster and rehome many of the rabbits that come from breeders. Doesn't sound like they're (breeders) doing much to improve their reputation. Breeders and hoarders unite!! ![]() |
