I know how hard it is, when I lost Moe (my hamster) I cried for days. All my pets die slowly, which makes it worse. Sending you positive thoughts and good intentions.

the cut is still very raw but i have to bring up this question when should i get mo a new cage mate. I don't want to replace him but i don't want mo to live alone too.

Re: Lost butterscotch today
A piece of advice given me by another member of this forum was to consider adopting another piggie when we were ready -- to help another piggie and to give our Eevee a new friend. We found that, after saying our goodbyes to Penny, it didn't replace our feeling of loss for her, but focusing on saving another piggie really made us feel good. It kind of makes you focus on helping the new piggie, and in turn, helping your surviving one. And, that's an honorable legacy to your piggie that's gone over the rainbow bridge.

Re: Lost butterscotch today
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts as I still miss both Borat and Mufasa. My thoughts are with you as you work through the pain.
Really, it's up to you when you get Mo a friend. I'm a believer in getting another pet quickly after one dies, but some people need some grieving time. Once you're ready, it's a great way to honor your pig's memory by saving another life. Giving that new lease on life to a needy piggy is the one good thing that can come out of a pet's death.
Who knows, the right piggy might even drop into your lap almost literally. I got Quinn the day Borat died through a coincidence, and it helped me to know that Bo's loss at least meant a home for her.
