Neutral : -2 (+0/-2) I wanted everyone to know that I uploaded a picture of one of my piggies that passed away was deleted because he was in the cage eating. He was a free ranging piggy.Spuds only went in the cage to eat and drink water.. But what hurt was I was told it was offensive. That is the only picture I had of Spuds. All I was doing was to do a memorial to him. I miss seeing him running around the livingroom chutting and wheeking as he was making his rounds around the livingroom. I'm very sorry your pig is gone. The reason no pictures with small cages (even as quarantine or just to eat in) aren't allowed is because many people who know nothing about guinea pigs come to this site and look in the galleries for ideas and don't read anything about proper care. If all the pictures show large cages, more people will get the idea that they need to build a large cage as well. If some show pet store cages, there is a mixed message. I'm sure you want other people in the future to give their pigs as much room to run around as you did for Spuds, so I hope you understand. Do you have a copy of the picture saved on your computer? I'm not sure if photoshopped pictures are allowed in the gallery, but I would be happy to cut out the image of your pig and put it on a plan background so you can't see the cage. |

I'm sorry your piggie is no longer with you and Trixie. Akstrhm give you a great idea. I'm sure if you uploaded it from your pc then you could send her a copy. I'm sure you gave your little piggie a very happy home. |

yes I have the picture saved on my computer. I would appreciate if you could fix it. I miss him. The pictures of Sassy , Scooter, and Rufus are memorial to them. They passed away within 4 month time span. Scooter passed in Feb at age of 22 months. Rufus passed away in Apr at age of 2 yrs. Sassy passed away at the age of 2 yrs.We had to have Sassy put to sleep, She had a brain tumor. That same day my Pet rat Snoopy passed away he was 23 months old. Neutral : -3 (+0/-3) Scooter developed malocclusion and had jaw tooth infected. The infection got in his bloodstream.I was taking him to vet about week to 2 weeks but was nothing we could do.The antibiotics. didnt help. Rufus had a week immune system. when I got him back from my oldest son he had mites and fleas. So I took him to vet for treatment. The meds the vet gave me didn't help. Me and bf gave him a little bit of beer and within a few days I noticed he wasnt scratching as much. Then in Apr of this yr he had a heart attack. The vet told me he wouldnt live the full lifespan. Sassy was making her rounds in the livingroom and I noticed her balance wasn't normal.I thought she had another ear infection so I took her to vet and got her on antibiotics. After a few days I had to take her back to vet she was getting worse. When I took her back and told the vet he said he was afraid it was cancer. only option was to put her to sleep. I held her in my arms and she looked up at me and I put her to my cheek . She licked my cheek as if to say it be alright mommy. I'll b with Scooter and Rufus. We brought her body home and buried her beside Scooter. When we got home I found my Pet rat Snoopy had died also. He died from old age. I miss all of my babies so much. That one reason Trixie means so much to me. She is Sassy and Scooters granddaughter and Rufus' daughter. She looks almost identical to Rufus. Last edited by Ly&Pigs; 10-15-09 at 12:43 pm. Yes. I found a good vet about 45 min away from where I live. The drive is worth it he specializes in piggy care. He really cares about his patients. He is the one that I took Sassy to when the first vet didn't care enough to even tell me it might be a tumor. That was when I took her to Sweeten Creek Bird and animal hospital. They even sent a sympathy card. That is how much they care for their patients. |

I'm sorry that you lost your pig. It's always hard to lose a pet, no matter how short their time with you might have been. Your photo was deleted for reasons that have been covered in many places on this forum, but you are welcome to post it in this thread if you'd like, just not in the gallery, as I said, for reasons that have been covered in numerous places. I also wanted to point out that this: Quote:
I hope that you are giving more thought than this to the well-being and care of your animals for those that are still surviving. |

Agree Paula about the beer. In Asian farm lands beer is sprayed by mouth over cows to kill insects . |
