To bissy with love

My Biscuit just passed away today (9-22-09) after a sudden illness struck her down. She had three babies exactly two weeks ago today who are now orphans. I am at a loss to why she died cept that maybe she was too young to have had babies and the strain was too much for her. Her three sisters who also gave birth within days of her are luckily doing fine but my heart is breaking over Bissy's sudden loss. I just can't wrap my head and heart around her being truly gone and I didn't even have time to get the critical care from a vet or determine exactly what ailed her. She just suddenly stopped eating and drinking and is gone in hours not days. Her habit of high pitched screaming I at first had so much trouble dealing with (I had NO idea it was just her way of "talking") is so badly missed now the silence is deafening. I will even miss her hissy fits whenever I trimmed her nails (you would think she was being "MURDERED") and I will miss her way of ringing the hanging bells hanging in her section of the cage when I wasn't "fast" enough at making the veggies. But mostly I will miss HER and the empty space that is a gaping HOLE in my heart here and looking for her and not seeing her will make the next few weeks/months seem like decades. I never "let go" of the things I love so her death will remain as fresh twenty years from now as it is right now. Never let go. I never let go. My heart goes out to EVERY SINGLE person who has such a loss be it human/animal or anything you love with every fiber of your being and you lose it. Biscuit may be "gone" but she will never leave my heart. My heart WILL go on but with a special place reserved ONLY for her in it. GOD I MISS HER. I miss my Bissy.

Thank you but for me time never lessens the pain. I am one of "those" who never let go. But thank you for the thought. Thank you for your kindness in this horrible time.

Thank you so much. Yes PLEASE keep my girls (and boys once I sex the babies) in your prayers. I have lost three piggies now (Snickers and a stillborn baby before Bissy here) and I just can't take another loss right now. I am reeling still and I just feel like I am a horrid person with all these losses in such a short time frame.

You are not a horrid person darling, sometimes deaths are just that. Inexplicable. Just stay strong, think of them in happy piggy heaven and being spoilt rotten over there...

You are not a horrible person. Unfortunately these are things that cannot be controlled. I am so very sorry for your loss. Look up at the stars tonight and find the brightest one - that will be little Biscuit smiling down on you

THANK YOU SO MUCH. Today is our first day without Bissy and it has been a hard one. But the babies are doing ok and everything seems peaceful for the moment in the playpen. The babies made it through their first night without their mom and with all the other aunts and cousins with them, they might not even notice much has changed. But I sure DO Thank you for your kind words. They mean SO MUCH in this time of unadulterated misery. THANK YOU

*hugs* you are not a horrible person. Don't beat yourself up, if it was her time to go it was her time to go. As is seen by how quickly she went. It hurts and I understand how bad it hurts, it feels like your heart is breaking. But it does get easier, and I find talking to My Honey really helps me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. But the silence here every day is wrenching. Yes some of the babies "talk" when they hear me in the kitchen but Bissy's voice is gone. That distinctive high pitched shriek is gone forever and I hope one day soon I won't keep adding my tears to the veggies and lettuce I am making for my brood of 12 here. I dread the day I have to give away six of those eight babies but I know that day is coming too. But you are right only TIME can heal this hurting now. THANK YOU for your kind words here. I'm so so so so ext. sorry. I know how you feel. I recently lost my adorable little pony because of cancer. I know how hard it is and sometimes you just need a hug. It has been two months now, and I am feeling much better, but I also know that different situations take more or less time. Again, so sorry for your loss and a big hug to you if it will help.

I know the pain of loosing a so beloved animal friend. I'm still grieving the loss of my boy Chubbs who passed a year ago this summer. A day doesn't go by when I'm with the others that a thought about him enters my mind. It's a reflection of the type of person I am and I have a hard time of letting things go..Thoughts of my animals who have passed never leave me...I never want them to be forgotten. Like you, my pigs and other animals bring a lot of peace and tranquility and take away the daily stresses that life brings. I'm so sorry for your loss, I wish I can be at your side to comfort you as support was what got me through the first few weeks when Chubb's passed. Your piggy isn't suffering and has moved on. My belief is in Karma and that death isn't the end but a new beginning.

Thank you for your kind words. It is so hard to "get over" the silence where she used to be so vocal. That high pitched "scream" none of my other 12 pigs can make and maybe only a few like her exist with that voice and GOD how badly I MISS it. Thank you for your words and that time WILL lessen the pain. I KNOW it does. It is just HARD to think that way yet but time is all I got now and 12 other pigs to keep me BUSY. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Again it is so comforting to know I am not "crazy" by my NOT letting go of the animals that are in my care. I see them all in my minds eye so much whenever something comes to remind me of them ( a picture/a story/seeing someone with an animal like one of mine) so I too never let go.
