I don't even know where to begin...Pixie just had a seizure and passed away. Words cannot even describe how upset I am right now. I feel like I just lost my own child. She was recovering from an abcess and today it actually looked like she was making progess and then it all happened so fast...I'm speechless. We're going to go now and bury her in my In-laws back yard, which is a nice big field over looking the ocean. I'm sorry if this is a little messy as I'm crying pretty heavily and can't think very much right now. Thank you all for helping me in the beginning when I first got her. Without you guys, I probably would't have done all the right things to care for her.

When I was very little I also had a Guinea Pig named Pixie so this hits close to home.

Thanks guys. Right about now I feel like a child for crying so much. We just got home from burying her. She on the edge of the meadow/old field on my in-laws land over looking where the river meets the ocean. It was pitch dark but the silence was nice, there were a lot of tears shed. My boyfriend made her a little box and tomorrow we are going to find a headstone for her. She was definetly one of a kind. I think some people think I'm a little crazy going so far for a little pig but she meant a lot to me. I hate the fact that I have to leave her behind when we move, so that's why I made the half hour drive to my inlaws so I can visit her when I come back.

I thought for sure she was doing well. Her abcess was going away and cleaning out nicely and then she just took a turn for the worse. It looked like a seizure but yet again it was hard to say. She went limp and started twitching rolling around and so I picked her up and she just got worse so I yelled for the phone to call the vet but then she stopped.

Once again, thank you all for the kind words, it means a lot in this difficult time.

I'm so, so sorry. My Sunshine was sick, but getting better, then suddenly died, too. Heartbreaking! You're finally feeling relieved, then...BAM!!!! Think of her being happy and healthy and with all her little friends at Rainbow Bridge. That's the only thing that slowed my tears. They didn't stop...still haven't...but it did get easier. R.I.P. Sweet Little Pixie. Kisses and Hugs!

I am so sorry for your loss! It's amazing how much they become part of your family, my whole family was in tears when Lily died. Rest In Peace Pixie

Oh my god I am so sorry for your loss.
I cried a little when I read both of your posts, because I have gone thru this with many cats and dogs, both my own and at the shelter i volunteer at, and I know how horrible it is to lose an animal.
