Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 In loving memory of Gunny | | I will never forget the day I was biking around and decided to check out a neighborhood garage sale. There was little Gunny running around his cage with a price tag hanging off of him. I convinced my family to buy him and he was taken home with us. I learned later the circumstances of the family having to sell him. He was purchased for the family's 4 year old daughter who named him, I didn't change it when I got him. She recieved him for her pet when the dad was diagnosed with cancer. He was her little buddy during all his chemo treatments. A little while later the father passed away. Unable to juggle her daughter, her job and the family dog and guinea pig the mom was forced to sell the little guy. Gunny came to live with us and spent the rest of his days with his friend Gidget (after havign him neutered). He died while I was on vacation but I came home to find Gidget by herself and a little gravesite in the backyard. My brother had written on a brick marking his burial spot, "Gunny, a good pig". He buried him with clover since he loved to eat it so much. I'll never forget Gunny, the nicest pig I've ever met. I could put him in the yard and know he would never move from where I placed him. He had a little tickle spot on his back and purred whenever I scratched it. It was because of Gunny's wonderful personality that our family became addicted to guinea pigs and now have 4. Gunny I know you are in piggy heaven as that's where all good pigs like you go. And you are feasting on clover and carrots all the time. Rest in Peace Gunny! I will miss you! |
