Billy

We got Billy today. He was quarantined in a locked room, until I deemed him healthy enough to join the girls - he was neutered. I came home after 2 hours away at my parents house with my kids for dinner. My rescue dog chewed THRU the door, tipped over the cage he was temp. in and killed him.

I am so angry with myself. I know I did what I thought was best - locked door, away from the other pets. But I feel like I should have stayed here the first afternoon with him here just to be safe.

Goodbye beautiful Billy, we were looking forward to getting to know and love you. You were here so briefly and my little boy is crying like his best friend is gone. I am so sorry you left here in such a horrible way.

I'm so sorry about your loss, SnowFlower. This was just a freak accident, it's not your fault at all.

I am sorry to hear that. When I was young, our family had a dog that killed any hamster that was brave enough to escape from the cage, and a puppy. We finally realized we had to get an animal that was bigger than that old beagle mix. Don't beat yourself up over it.
