Rest in peace Cindy.
As of 11:30 am on Monday, June 1st 2009 my dear Cindy has left us to run free at the rainbow bridge.
Yesterday my grandpa took Cindy to the e-vet. She was very weak, had little appetite, was coughing & having trouble breathing. She was diagnosed with an advanced stage of heartworms. He initially had them start the treatment, but this morning he decided to put her out of pain and have her put to sleep.
She'll be missed by all that knew her, she had never met a stranger, everyone was her best friend.
1997-2009, 12 yrs.
I saw her just over a week ago, I had no idea it would be the last time I seen her.
Cindy was my grandpa's dog. She was though, going to be mine. Originally we were going to take her when he passes (he's 93...) but he decided I could take her now, he was having a really hard time caring for her properly. I am going to Idaho soon for about a week or 2, so I wanted to wait till I got back to take her, because she'd lived outside in a pen her whole life (wasn't potty trained, no house skills, etc.) and I'd have the time to work with her.
My only regret is that she never got to experience the life of a queen, and a house dog that she deserved.
Godspeed Cindy, run free.
Here's the vid link to a video that I made in memory of her
