I don't post often so don't know everyone on the forum very well, but this is the only place I could think to go to share my heartache and know everyone would understand. My little "Baby" died sometime in the early hours of this morning. He's the white one in my avatar. He fought a valiant fight for 2 months with a UTI and bladder stones but just couldn't fight any more. The bladder stone wasn't detected until it had already moved into a spot that was inoperable. I changed vets about two weeks into this battle after realizing he just didn't have the knowledge to help my little "Baby". The second vet was wonderful and knew exactly what needed to be done but it was apparently too late to fix him. PLEASE make sure your vet knows about cavies....not all of them do. I still have one older male named "Piggy" that I am watching carefully to make sure he does OK without his buddy. They were together three years. I'm sure he will miss his noisy cagemate. Even as bad as "Baby" was doing yesterday, he still gave us a couple of loud welcoming whistles and lots of wheeks during the day. He was a real hoot! We will miss him terribly.       |

I'm so sorry. You did your best to heal him and he knows that. He was very loved and he'll never forget that. RIP Baby. |

I am so sorry to hear about Baby. He had such a wonderful life with you, and you should always remember that. |

You need to remeber you gave Baby a really good life. I'm sure he had a great time with Piggy. Baby will be in my thoughts along with you. I hope you fell better. *Hugs* |
