Unhappy Letting go is the hardest thing I've had to do

It's incredible how much these little creatures can grow on you in such a short period of time. I only had 2 weeks with my little one, but it was the best and happiest that I've had for a while. I grew incredibly attatched to him, since he was my only company here at college. I think the worst part was the fact I couldn't do anything. Thank you, Petco for the URI. I tried my hardest, took him to the vet a few times, and I guess he just gave up. This was the first thing I have done entirely on my own, without any of my parents' help. He became my baby, and I know he was happy too. I just wish he could've had a long life. 3 months is way too young. I want to get another one, but I know it wont be the same. And I am looking into adopting from a shelter, although i do want a young one again.
Miss you my little one,
RIP Sundrop :'(

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's so hard to lose pets whom we loved but just think of Sundrop popcorning in piggy heaven. May he rest in peace.

Oh dear, I'm sorry that had to happen to you. It's never an easy thing losing a pet, no matter what some people say, it is no dfferent then losing a family member. I wish you the best and hopefully getting another will help you. I guess you'll never know what happens untill you try. Big hug!

Re: Letting go is the hardest thing I've had to do

When I was little and lost my first guinea pig, Moe, I was devastated. It gets easier but I know what you're going through. I hope he's happy where he is and I'm sure he knew how well he was taken care of by you

Re: Letting go is the hardest thing I've had to do

I have found that focusing on the living helps to ease the lose of a companion. Another piggie will never replace your Sundrop but will bring its own joys and rewards and will make it easier to think of your little buddy with more joy than sorrow. I am so sorry for your lose.
