My first guinea pig, Pumpkin, has just passed away. We are leaving to go on vacation on friday and I had just typed a full page about pumpkin and how to take care of her. We were going to take her to my grandma's house tonight. I got home from school and went to clean her cage and she was in her hidey house. She was laying on her side and she was dead. She wasn't even a year old. I just don't know what I did wrong. I have been crying for 45 minutes non-stop and I probualy will keep crying untill i can't cry anymore. I will always love and remember my dear Pumpkin.       |

I truely know how you feel, that's exactly how I found my Smartie. I know it comes as a shock but in time it will pass. Please don't blame yourself, you did your very best for your piggy. It is a hard time losing something/someone so close and dear to your heart. Ironically I had to put my other piggy Rolo down today and it is difficult to deal with, you'd think it would get easier, but sadly it hurts just as much each time. But like I'm telling myself, stay strong, you'll get through it. Unfortunately death is what we all have to go through and deal with. It's tough but you'll get through it. I'm so sorry for loss of your beloved Pumpkin. May she rest peacefully over rainbow bridge. Take good care & stay strong. xxx |

Oh that is so sad you musn't blame yourself though. I have had that experience. My guinea pig Rocky; I had him for 20 days. He had a restpitory thing that he was born with. And the vet said I did nothing wrong. It was something we could do nothing about. So hang in there maybe try another guinea pig when you are ready. |
