My sweet oldie, Jamie

Jamie was my first female guinea pig. Her little crest-like shape on her forehead caught my eye in the pet shop and I just had to have her. Though, silly me forgot to ask the employee exactly how old she was. She was old. I've loved and cared for her for 2 years. This morning I found her dead inside her cage which she shared temporarily with Junior, my first ever guinea pig. There was no blood, no broken bones, a clean death. And We've visited the vet last Wednesday when the vet found her clean of any illness and injury. Clearly the cause of death was old age. Since it was this morning and I was late for school already, I didn't have to time to place her in a proper burial. Instead I put her in a bag and threw her inside the garbage, which only made me cry more.

Terrence (my avatar) reminds me a lot of her and that's why I chose him as my avatar. I will never forget for Jamie, it's a shame that I wasn't able to hold her, while she was alive, one last time before she died. As I write this I cry, she was too beautiful and loving.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I lost an old guy in December and the friend he left behind just got diagnosed with heart problems. It's hard to think of losing her so soon after him.

After I've lost Jamie I've been really paranoid. I'm on constant alert. I practically get a heart attack when I see my other two boars asleep.
