Unhappy Rest in Good Peace Lenny

My first cavy was very young
I bought her from a pet store in our place.
After 4 days she mysteriously died.
My and my brother saw her lying in her cage on her side gasping for breath.
We couldn't do anything.
Hours later, she passed away.
I cried.

Re: Rest in Good Peace Lenny

I'm really sorry for your loss. Guineas can go downhill so quickly. If you get another one (and get one from a shelter, so you know it will more likely be healthy), scout out a good vet beforehand. Any strange behaviour or signs of distress need to be checked out by a vet. I know it's hard knowing whether you should get wait and see if your pet will get better, whether you're worrying over nothing and wasting the vet's time, but with guineas I think it's always best to overreact, panic and go to the vet.

Re: Rest in Good Peace Lenny

thanks...
I now brought another piggy this time. I'm trying to rescue it from mite infestation and other diseases that might have been transferred to him.
I hope He'll be fine once i get him checked.
